Technologies at Our Dental Clinic

At Bay Dental Group, we leverage technology to support treatment planning and make your dental appointments run more smoothly.

Because we are able to display digital X-rays and scans on monitors in our treatment rooms, we can show you any issues in your mouth and review your treatment plan with you.

We're on a mission to provide patients with dental care that works for them, and to keep them fully informed about their oral health. Dental technology helps us accomplish this goal.

X-Rays

Digital X-Rays

Instead of traditional photographic X-ray film, digital X-rays use digital sensors to produce detailed computer images of the teeth and gums, in addition to other oral structures and conditions. With these, your dentist can examine parts of the mouth that are invisible to the naked eye.

Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic X-rays allow your dentist to create a single image of your entire mouth. This image is a flat representation of the teeth, sinus and nasal structures, upper and lower jaws and temporomandibular joints. Panoramic X-rays are often used to help plan treatments for extractions, dental implants, braces and dentures.

Intraoral Scanners

With intraoral scanners, we can create digital dental impressions. The dentist will simply use an optical scanner wand to capture a digital image of your teeth within minutes. This device allows your dentist to capture accurate data so digital replicas of the hard and soft tissues of your mouth can be created.

Cone Beam Cat Scan

Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a special type of x-ray machine that generates 3D images of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths and bone in the craniofacial region in a single scan. Images obtained with CBCT allow for more precise treatment planning, including analyzing your airway for snoring and sleep apnea treatment.

Dental Lasers

Lasers (extremely focused light beams) can be used in a variety of hard and soft tissue dental procedures. These help our dentists to perform dental procedures with fewer medical interventions and less pain for patients. They help to reshape gums, remove overgrown or decayed tissue, whiten teeth or harden dental restorations quickly.

CEREC Same-Day Restorations

The CEREC® (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) system allows for the fabrication of ceramic dental restorations including dental crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers in one appointment, from start to finish. With CEREC, no temporary restorations are needed and the patient is often able to retain more healthy tooth structure.
