What is Restorative Dental Care?

Procedures that aim to restore the normal function and appearance of your smile are considered restorative dental care.

By fixing structural issues such as missing or damaged teeth, our dentists at Bay Dental Group can help restore your smile — and your oral health.

Depending on the problem, the dentist will determine the right restorative treatment option for you.

Dental Bridges

Custom-made bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements the dentist will bond to dental implants or existing teeth to replace a section of missing teeth. Since they are made to fit the patient's mouth, they are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth.

Root Canals

During a root canal procedure, your dentist removes diseased tissues, blood vessels and nerves from a tooth's interior. By eliminating bacteria and decay, your dentist can help stop infection from spreading and prevent the need for an extraction and further dental problems.

Dental Fillings

Cracks, cavities and other tooth damage can be repaired with composite (tooth-coloured) fillings. These fillings are able to withstand moderate pressure from the continual stress of chewing, and can be used on both front and back teeth and are closely matched in shade to existing teeth.

Full & Partial Dentures

To replace one missing tooth or several in a row, we use partial dentures. Full dentures can replace an entire jaw of missing teeth. Dentures allow patients who are missing teeth to maintain their facial structure, and to chew and speak properly, helping to improve confidence in their smile.

Dental Crowns

Used to attach bridges, cover dental implants or prevent a cracked tooth from worsening, these porcelain caps are put on top of teeth to restore their appearance and function. They can also help to restore a stained or discoloured tooth to its natural appearance.
