CEREC

CEREC technology allows the Bay Dental Group dentists to have an artificial tooth made and fitted during a single appointment.

What is CEREC?

CEREC is Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics System.

What services can be done with CEREC?

CEREC is a system that enables your Bay Dental Group dentist to design, fabricate and fit a new crown, veneer, onlay or inlay in a single visit.

The filling is natural-looking and compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.

How does the procedure work?

Your Bay Dental Group dentist uses a special camera to take an accurate digital picture of the damaged tooth.

The optical impression is transferred and displayed on a colour computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD technology to design the restoration.

Then CAM (Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology takes over and automatically creates the restoration you want.

Finally, the dentist bonds the new restoration to the surface of your old tooth; the whole process typically taking about one hour.
